Our products are hand crafted naturally right here on our farm with the majority of our ingredients, grown, harvested or sourced from quality NZ organic suppliers.
Product ingredients are based around NZ native herbs, pure natural waxes, grapeseed, apricot kernel and rosehip oils and pure essential oils.
Key Ingredients
Organic Kawakawa (Macropiper excelsum) – The Kawakawa tree, a significant and sacred plant for Maori, is highly valued for its traditional healing properties. With a multitude of medicinal uses kawakawa has application in cases of inflammatory skin problems, skin infections and insect bites, as well as internally for an imbalanced digestive system.
Bees Wax (Cera alba) – Sourced from bee hives on our farm, beeswax is a natural antimicrobial substance and also provides gentle skin protective, regenerative and softening qualities.
Organic Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus armeniaca) – Rich in vitamins A, C and E, and a unique blend of fatty acids, apricot kernel oil is nourishing and soothing for the skin.
Grapeseed Oil (Vitis vinifera) – A light oil that is readily absorbed into the skin, Grapeseed is rich in antioxidants and linoleic acid (LA). LA can be beneficial for balancing problem skin, therefore assisting with a wide range of skin disorders.
Organic Rose hip Oil (Rosa moschata) – Sourced from the small fruits that are left once a rose has lost its petals, rosehip oil contains an array of essential fatty acids and oils that feed and heal the skin. It is particularly high is vitamin A; an important nutrient for treating skin that is damaged or prematurely aged.
Ecocert Olive Oil Emulsifier – Derived from Olives, and approved for use in certified organic products our emulsifier assists with absorption of the active ingredients in our skin creams and balms, while also promoting skin tone and elasticity.
Vegetable Glycerine – certified organic glycerine to assist with moisturising and softening the skin.
Thuja (Thuja occidentalis) – The antifungal, antimicrobial and antiviral properties of thuja make it a popular herb with medical herbalists for treating a broad range of fungal and viral complaints including athletes foot, warts and corns.
Golden Seal (Hydrastis Canadensis) – The multitude of therapeutic actions provided by golden Seal –including antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, improved would healing and nourishment for the skin, make it a key herb for treating a wide array of skin disorders.
Greater celandine (Chelidonium majus) – Used historically as a blood cleanser and to treat liver conditions when taken internally, the active compounds found in greater celandine can be used topically to address viral and fungal skin conditions.
Pukatea (Laurelia novae-zelandiae) – The bark from this tall forest tree has unique soothing properties is traditionally used for assisting with the discomfort of rheumatic conditions and nerve pain.
Key Essential Oils
Organic Tee Tree Oil: Manuka (Leptospermum scoparium), Kanuka (Kunzea ericoides) – Manuka and Kanuka, or tea tree oil as they are commonly called, are well-known natives plants that provide potent antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. While both very similar in their therapeutic qualities, Kanuka has a more floral aroma, and is a lighter oil, enabling it to penetrate the skin more readily.
Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia) – A superstar among essential oils, Lavenders uses are many and varied. It is safe to use directly on the skin and with its antiseptic and antimicrobial properties Lavender is excellent for wound healing and burns. The superior calming effects of the oil mean it exerts its power both internally and externally – benefiting body and mind.
Lemon Verbena (Aloysia citrodora) – A deliciously citrus smelling oil, Lemon verbena acts as a tonic on the body and can improve our mood. When used topically, the active compounds it contains can assist with healing common skin problems.
Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens) – A fragrant, minty scented oil, wintergreen oil is extracted from the leaves of a north American shrub. When used topically Wintergreen can stimulate blood circulation making it ideal for use in cases of muscle and joint pain, as well as helping relieve tension.
Peppermint (Mentha piperita) – Containing the active constituent, menthol, the cooling effects of Peppermint assist with muscular discomfort and tension from acute or longstanding injuries.
Camphor (Cinnamomum camphora) – Camphor is a stimulant, meaning it gets things moving in the body. Therefore, it supports circulation, congestion and excretion in many body systems including musculoskeletal, respiratory and digestive.
Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) – A popular culinary and medicinal herb, Rosemary promotes circulation and is ideal for helping in cases of physical discomfort and inflammation, including headaches and rheumatic conditions.
Cedarwood (Cedarus deodara) – One of the key uses of cedar wood is for helping to relieve spasms. It is used in cases of musculoskeletal, respiratory, nervous system and digestive system disturbances.
Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Citriodora) – With a rich history of use as an antiseptic, eucalyptus is today utilised in formulations for the support of physical pain, to support the immune system and to help combat mental exhaustion.
Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) – This aromatic spice, used in traditional Asian cooking and medicine, is comprised of up to 90% eugenol – a compound that is antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. In addition to being great for all manner of oral health, Clove oil is warming and helps stimulate circulation throughout all the body systems.
Elemi (Canarium luzonicum) – The antimicrobial properties of this oil are so effective they were used by the ancient Egyptians. Elemi oil helps to protect the body from infections as well as assisting with wound healing and scarring, and for nourishing mature skin and sun damaged skin.
Black pepper (Piper nigrum) – This warming essential oil promotes circulation and is useful in cases of bruising, muscular aches, cold extremities and nerve discomfort. And it won’t make you sneeze like it’s culinary counterpart.
